Epoxide A has a mirror plane and is therefore not chiral. Epoxides B and C are enantiomers of one another, even though they possess a rotational axis. Cyclobutane D has two mirror planes, and so is not chiral. Cyclobutane E has a centre of inversion, and is also achiral. | |
