Weblink 2.3 Plot the radial parts of the wavefunctions or the RDFs for the hydrogen AOs

The applet below displays either the radial parts of the hydrogen AOs, or the corresponding RDFs, for AOs with n up to 4. Up to three different wavefunctions can be displayed by selecting the values for n and l in each case; the value of the effective nuclear charge can also be altered using the slider.

Use the "Plot 1", "Plot 2" and "Plot 3" checkboxes to select how many wavefunctions are displayed; select the values of n and l using the drop down menues. To toggle between the radial part of the wavefunction and the RDF, click on the radio buttons. The graph will scale itself as you move the sliders, to turn this off, deselect the "Auto Scale" checkbox.
